The Marina Dalglish Appeal was set-up by the Dalglish family in 2005 'to do something to help' after Marina was successfully treated for Breast Cancer in 2003. The charity has one very simple aim 'to make a difference'.

Our Current Appeal

Our exciting new project in 2016 will be taking over the Lily Centre in Liverpool, where we will be offering holistic, emotional, and education support to breast cancer sufferers and their families. Our hope is to continue and expand on the great work of all the volunteers at 'The Retreat' at Aintree University Hospital and to create a much-needed support network away from a hospital environment.

Kenny Dalglish

Each time I visited the hospitals, whether the Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology or University Hospital, Aintree, where Marina was operated on, I marvelled at the time, patience and love the nurses bestowed on their patients.

Bill Clarke

The charity could not be in safer hands with 'Uncle Bill'* at the helm. He has been a part of the Dalglish family since they met in 1978, providing invaluable support and advice on many fronts. Bill is an accountant by trade and ensures that every penny raised by the MDA goes exactly where it is intended - to improve the lives of cancer patients.

Paul Sproson

Paul has been a supporter of the MDA from the beginning, and became a trustee in March 2008.  Along with Mike, Paul organises the annual Gentleman’s Christmas Lunch at Formby Hall Golf Resort and Spa.

Lee Martin

As Marina's consultant, Lee oversaw her breast cancer treatment and recovery from the disease. He helped to develop The Marina Dalglish Appeal and has been our medical sounding board ever since.
